உள்ளூர் கலைஞர்களுக்காக முதல் முறை நடைப்பெறவுள்ள இவ்விருது விழா நம் நாட்டுக் கலைஞர்களுக்கும் அவர்களுகளுடைய திறமைக்கான அங்கீகாரம் வழங்கும் நோக்கில் மிக பிரம்மாண்டமாக நடைப்பெறவுள்ளது. இவ்விருது விழாவிற்கான இராண்டாவது பத்திரிக்கையாளர் சந்திப்பு அண்மையில் பிரிக்பில்ட்ஸ், ஃபினாஸ் பிட்சிங் சென்றாலில் நடைப்பெற்றது.

“நம் நாட்டுப் படைப்பாளிகளின் படைப்புகளுக்கு அங்கீகாரம் வழங்கும் அதை சமையத்தில் திரைப்படத்துறையில் தங்களை அர்ப்பனித்து சிறப்பான படைப்பு உருவாக காரணமாக இருக்கும் திரைப்படக் கலைஞர்களுக்கும் தொழிற்நுட்பக் கலைஞர்களுக்கும் அங்கீகாரம் மிகவும் முக்கியம் என்பதே நாங்கள் அறிவோம். இதன் வழி மேலும் பல சிறப்பான படைப்புகள் உருவாக இவ்விருது விழா வித்திடும் என்று இவ்விழாவின் முதன்மை செயல் முறை அதிகாரி ஆர்.ஜி. நாயுடு தெரிவித்தார்.

இதனிடையை, கடந்த 2015 ஆம் ஆண்டு வெளிவந்த உள்ளூர் திரைப்படங்கள், குறும்படங்களுக்கான விருதுகள் மிகா விருது விழாவில் வழங்கப்படவுள்ளது. மலேசியா, இந்தியா, ஸ்ரீலங்கா, ஆகிய நாடுகளைச் சேர்ந்த நீதிபதிக்களைக் கொண்டு முறையாக இவ்விருதுக்கான படைப்புகளை தேர்வு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. மேலும், மிகப் பிரபலமான விருதுகளை பொதுமக்கள் தேர்ந்தெடுக்கும் வாய்ப்பு ஏற்பாடு செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளது. அவ்விருதுக்கான வாக்குபதிவு தற்பொது மிகா அகப்பக்கத்தில் நடைப்பெற்று வருகிறது.

இந்த விருது வரிசையில் ஒட்லிங் மக்கள் தேர்வு எனும் விருதும் இணைக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

                  MICA Awards Private Limited Association is proudly presenting Malaysian Indian Cine Awards exclusively for our local artists in Malaysia for the first time. In conjunction with that, the second press conference held at brickfields FINAS Pitching Central recently. This prestigious event will be held on 23rd December at TSR Conference Hall, Shah Alam. Not only that, this glamorous event also will be kick started with the red carpet arrival where the celebrities will be given a royal welcome for the award ceremony. Lately, our Indian Cinema industry has been flourishing over a decade of years with tremendous achievements. There are nine local Tamil movies screened over the last year are up for the nominations this year.  MICA 2016 aims to acknowlege and honour the excellence as well as the hardwork of our local arists in Indian cinema. Aside from that, this award ceremony also set to honour the production and technical team in order to encourage them to be a part in enriching our cinema industry and  produce more quality movies.

                Besides, the juries will be the experts from Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka and India whereas the public has been given an opportunity to cast their votes for the Popular Category Awards which are consists of Most Popular Movie, Most Popular Actor and Actress. At the same time, Hotlink People's Choice award also will be included in the award ceremony. Enricos company will be one of the main sponsor of this event whereas THR Raaga's RJ Anantha and Minnal.Fm's RJ Theyvekgan together with our local artist Ratna and Reneetha will be the official hosts of this wonderful event. Furthermore, Red carpet arrival will be hosted by Bala Ganapathy William or well known as BGW and Aruna.

                   From the day one since the idea has been mooted by the founder R.G.Naidu, this event has receive tremendous support from various associations, companies, Indian traders and many others. Whereby, Rafflesia the Pearl Centre also will be contributing RM 70,000 worth of pearl accessories for selected award categories. 6 flight tickets will be given away by Oscar Holiday to fly to Dubai, Chennai and Colombia. Hence, MICA 2016 founder and Chief Executive Officer R.G.
